If you’re moving to Germany for studies, one of the first legal steps is address registration in Munich (Anmeldung). This process is essential for opening a bank account, applying for health insurance, and getting a student residence permit.
Follow this step-by-step guide to complete your Anmeldung process smoothly.
✅ Documents Required for Address Registration
Before booking an appointment, make sure you have:

✅ Step-by-Step Guide to Booking an Appointment
1️⃣ Go to the official website and scroll down to the section “You need an appointment to visit the Citizens Office”.
2️⃣ Click on the “appointment” link.
3️⃣ On the next page, select “Wohnsitz anmelden oder ummelden” (Register or change address) and choose option 1.
4️⃣ Click “Weiter zur Terminauswahl” (Continue to appointment selection).
5️⃣ In the dropdown menu, select Bürgerbüro Rupperstrasse – the office closest to the student area.
6️⃣ Pick a date and time for your appointment.
7️⃣ Enter your details (full name, email, and phone number) and confirm your booking by clicking “Weiter zum Abschluss der Reservierung” (Continue to final confirmation).
